Foster Care Prayer Vigil  -

In conjunction with National Foster Care Month and the National Foster Care Prayer Vigil the Open Hearts Open Homes Orphan Care Ministry is hosting a Foster Care Prayer Vigil.

We will meet to pray for the over 400,000 children that are in foster care across the nation as well as all those that are involved in the process such as social workers, clinicians, judges, attorneys, foster parents, and birth parents.  Come and join us as we join in prayer with many others across the nation to bring these children before the Lord in prayer.

Place: Bethany Baptist Church, 7422 N Heinz Lane, Edwards, IL

Interested in being a part of the STUCK documentary coming to Peoria?

Below is information we are passing on to anyone who is interested in helping to bring the documentary STUCK to the Peoria area.  This movie is "an advocacy film that reminds us that every child needs a family."

The kick-off meeting to discuss bringing STUCK to Peoria on Monday, May 13, at 5:30 PM, Richwoods Christian Church.   

The meeting will start with viewing the documentary, then proceed to discuss details about bringing it to Peoria.

 

They have reduced the license fee from $600 to $300!

Focused Fellowship

What is Focused Fellowship?  A time for women that are anywhere in the process of fostering and/or adoption to meet together.  Yes, anywhere in the process;  in the beginning decision-making process all the way to parenting for many years.

We spend time hearing a short devotion, praying for each other's family, and in fellowship.  It is a time to share what is on your heart and be encouraged.

While this is a ministry of Open Hearts Open Homes Orphan Care Ministry ladies attend from many different churches in Central Illinois.  If you have a friend that would be interested or would benefit from meeting with other women please invite her to come with you.

There is no need to RSVP, we are all busy ladies, we don't want you to feel that you can't come if you haven't let anyone know or feel guilty when your day blows up (though that would be the perfect time to come  meet with us).  Some of the ladies bring a snack to share, just finger food, nothing fancy.

Join us the third Monday of every month, with very few exceptions.
